What’s New With The Google Business Profile Listing 2024

The artist formerly known as Google My Business now goes by Google Business Profile. Along with the new name, it also acquired a few new features to make it an even better tool to improve your online presence and reach potential customers.

Here are the latest features and how you can take advantage of them for your Google Business Profile:

Easily Add Social Media Profiles

When someone searches for a business using Google or Google Maps, the first thing that will appear is the Google My Business Profile listing. However, another step would be required to get to the Instagram or LinkedIn profile. Now it is simple to add your social media profiles:

  • Log in to your Google Business Profile
  • Click edit profile
  • Select the Contact tab
  • Add the social media profiles you want

By making this process easier for your potential clients, you bolster their ability to interact with your business in the environment they feel most comfortable.

Manage Your Google Business Profile on Google Search and Maps

Accessing your Google Business Profile using a desktop is so much easier. Now, you can search for your business or enter “my business,” and then you can:

  • See reviews and star ratings
  • Reply swiftly to Google reviews
  • Quickly and easily create Google Ads
  • Use a quick popup to create a post and promote special offers
  • Access Google analytics and insights
  • Update your Google Business Profile listing, including business information, phone number, business description, and business category

Use Google Business Profile Messaging on Desktop

Many are unfamiliar with the chat features because they are not well promoted, but Google is trying to change that. While it was previously available on the Google My Business app, that mobile chat option is now available inside the desktop dashboard.

For it to work, messaging has to be enabled. With that feature, potential customers will see a “Chat” button and can send messages anytime. This makes it easier to respond to queries posed by customers quickly.

To easily chat with customers on Google Maps, you can use the new shortcuts in Google search through the following steps:

  • Search for your business in Google search
  • Select Customers
  • Choose Messages from the popup
  • View all the chats in a new popup window

If you have not done so already, you can install the Google reviews widget on your website to show consumer-generated reviews. This lends to the authenticity of your brand and increases confidence and trust.
